Cold Steel Gladius machete
Derived from the sword used by Celtic tribes of ancient Iberia (Spain) and adopted by the Roman Legions, the Gladius, with its long, narrow point and wasp waisted blade, was the scourge of the battlefield and often the last thing seen or felt by Rome's enemies.
Ever popular, the Gladius is still in demand almost 2000 years later and is one of our most frequently requested swords to make, so we have decided to offer a modern version of this ancient classic in a very affordable machete/sword format.
Made from 1055 Carbon steel and hand sharpened to a fine point and severe edge, it offers 19" of unprecedented piercing and slashing power at a bargain price.
Sporting an extra wide, full tang for strength and a classically inspired handle, it offers the standard guard and ball shaped pommel of years gone by. Made of high impact Polypropylene, it's impervious to the elements, rugged beyond belief and most importantly, comes compete with a sturdy cordura sheath and belt loop.

An outrageously good machete and all round chopper. Looks better than any other cold steel machete plus it's sharp on arrival. You don't need a reason to own it, just get one now.

What a fabulous machete! (Of course its not a machete: what on earth would you do in the garden with this beauty??). Theres nothing bad to say about this weapon, even the giveaway sheath (which are usually a bit naff) is great quality. Very sharp and needle pointed, excellent shape, superb handle, good balance, substantial weight: I love it. Stop reading this review and order one NOW, you will not be dissapointed. Worth noting that B&B have this lovely piece in stock before the official UK Cold Steel does, so 5 stars to them, and of course my Gladius was delivered swiftly. Thanks B&B!

superb very sharp, sturdy and well balanced bit of kit I hope blades and bows will be stocking more cold steel products a quick service from blades and bows once again. I will be using it for garden work and kindling wood as well as carving the Sunday roast .. when ive past I hope I have the honour of being buried with this !!

I've been waiting years for this. The official distributor never has them in stock so I called Cold Steel in the US and they said they couldn't get them through customs. So I tried to import them from France but the website wouldn't except British Debit cards. Was amazed to see them here and they arrived the next day! Superb quality. Razor sharp out of the box and has brilliant cutting power. The grip is sturdy and secure and the sheath is good quality too. Thank youBlades & Bows for finally making my wish come true!

this turned up and wow!!!only down side was the black finish on the edge was a little messy..but a gentle rub with a bit of fine wire wool and it looks even better...very nice item and well priced..well chuffed!!!
