The signature ring on our Shanghai Shadow gives this blade an assortment of advantages.
This simple device allows tremendous versatility in handling the knife. It provides a totally secure grip when the index finger is locked in place through the hole.
It can be pivoted around the index finger for a quick change from a forward to a reverse grip. And it can be a means of extending your arm’s reach by up to 4” when gripped by the ring alone.
But as cool and useful as the ring is it's the broad leaf shaped blade and Polypropylene handle scales that ultimately make impressions.
Made from one solid piece of 1055 Carbon steel, with a tough spring temper, the twin hollow ground edges of the Shanghai Shadow make it a superb cutting and thrusting tool as well as a good throwing knife.

This is an excellent design and totally unique, a wide flat double edged dagger. Similar to classic flat bladed spears used by some African cultures and very easy both to hold and to change grips. Buy one now, these aren't often available.

I don't know which is better the quality and price point of this amazing knife or the outstanding customer service I constantly receive from Blades and Bows (Thank you Liz). The knife itself is wonderfully well balanced, you can switch from a standard stance to a reverse grip effortlessly. The large steel ring at the hilt means the knife can be used in a style very simular to a karambit. Everything about it including the sheath is fantastically made and throws like a dream. Better then some of my purpose made throwers. This is a company that has, for my last three orders delivered fantastic products and unforgettable service. Thank you B&B
