Reichs Labour Service [Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD)]

Formed in the late 1920's and early 1930's by its leader, Konstantin Heirl, for the purpose of eliminating the mass unemployment existing among the youth of Germany.

The inscription on the blade reads 'Arbeit Adelt'

which translates into 'Work Enobles'.

The dagger in its scabbard measures approx. 15 6/8" (393mm).

The blade measures approx 10" (254mm)
