Nazi SS Replica Dagger

The SS (Schutzstaffel) was the most feared, despised and infamous organisation of the Third Reich. The SS was formed in 1925 as a small subunit of the SA (Sturmabteilung) with the mission of serving as the Fuhrers personal bodyguard.

In late 1936 Himmler introduced a new chain hanger for the existing officers daggers and for new officers, a new style dagger for wear, as well as old guard NCO’s and SS members who had joined prior to January 1933.

The chain was designed by Karl Diebitsch and comprised of octagonal plates embossed with the SS deaths head and SS runes. This had two meanings to it; the first is the skull and crossbones to signify a secret society. The second is the Sig Rune that is the power of Good over evil. The chains suspension clip was embossed with an ancient Germanic motif called "Wotans Knot".

The new-chained style dagger could only be purchased through official channels and was only initially worn with the black SS uniform.

Production of the original dagger discontinued in at the end of 1942.

This is an excellent replica of the 1936 SS dagger.

The inscription on the blade reads' Meine Ehre heist Treue' which translates as 'My Honour is my loyalty' which was the SS motto.

The dagger in its scabbard measures 14" (355mm)

The blade alone measures 8 7/16" (215mm)

As replicas go this is an exceptianal dagger. The moto is fairly bold, the chain is nicely decorated. SS runes and German eagle are nicely placed in the handle. Good value.

a very good value purchase its only down points are the fact5 that the egles head in more or less a blur and the made in china mark is on the same side of the blade as the SS motto. but i say again this value for money is hard to find

Nice piece, for the price. Nice and hefty, like the real thing and well made. Would have liked the correct number of chain links (one short, for some reason, maybe it's a convention for replicas), but pleased with it. Shame it has "stainless" etched on the blade (in small), but better than "Made in China" I suppose! Good item. Very good, for £12.

First of all I should state that this company is efficient in dealing with your order and delivering goods, first class service. I should also mention that the prices of both product and postage are very good and that the speed of delivery was excellent, I placed my order late on a Monday and received it on the Wednesday. The product itself, the Schutzstaffel honour dagger (M1936), is a great quality reproduction of that which was exclusive to the officers of the Waffen SS. For the asking price it is made of quality materials and is evenly balanced for a blade which looks heavy towards the hilt. In addition the scabbard also has interior padding which holds the blade securely in place so the blade won't become scrapped or damaged. I would highly recommend this site to my friends and others who would like to own a piece of military history or a nice decorative piece to have on display for a good price. I will use this site again and hope that more products are added to the WW2 german section.

I have just received my second ss dagger and am very pleased with the customer service and speed of delivery. As for the daggers, they are very good quality for the price ,and look great displayed on the wall. The detail on the daggers is adequate for a repro , and the blade is of fine quality with very good motto engraving. A reliable firm whom I would be happy to recommend to anyone.
